Organic Art

During a recent trip to Central Market, I passed by the most beautiful fruit and vegetables. If only I had my Nikon with me. But as you can see my camera phone did just fine.

What I would recommend to anyone looking to add color to a kitchen, breakfast nook, or dining area. Try this.

All these were taken by me. If I can do this, anyone could. Add some special effects via your photo editing program and up the look even more.

Easy Collage Wall

I meant to share with you guys the change that I made to the wall in the breakfast nook  (now used as the dining area). I started with the pixel art that I made from paint samples, and decided to make a small collage. I did nothing fancy, this was all about using what I had around the house. And making things myself.

As you can see from what I noted. I mixed DIY, family, and doable décor pieces.

Did you make any décor changes this weekend?

Z Gallerie Art

Albert, Albert, Albert---Einstein…These photos do not do this beautiful Z Gallerie art piece justice. The colors are vibrant, bold, and conversation worthy. This particular piece is done by Stephen Fishwick who creates pieces that are like none I have ever seen. And really that’s what you want when hanging art in your home. At least that one special piece.

The colors in the art blend great with the room, and actually allow me to incorporate other colors like yellow, orange, and even fuchsia which merges wonderfully with the already blue scheme.

and they’re up

When I changed the wall color in my office. I thought I was going to make a change with my collage wall. But after looking at it bare for a few months, and thinking about what it is that I love. The collage of photos is just that. So back up they went, and I feel so much better. I will likely make changes in the photos, and frames. But for now, I can check this wall off the list of things to do in my office, and focus on other changes in the space.

And as a reminder, here is what the color looked like before. I actually like it better now. Just being honest. Change is good.

Do you see how impactful a change in paint can be?

pure genius

One of my favorite artists of all times is David Garibaldi. Every now and then I fall for art, and this Einstein piece is one of them. When I walked in Z Gallerie it stopped me at the door. I literally stood there in front of it just looking in amazement. The colors in person are bold, but yet subtle. The dominant color is blue. Just to recap you on who he is…

Remember this piece? Yes…its in my office. I watched this piece for nearly 6 months, and finally it hit with a  clearance tag of $15.

But back to what I want for this house. A closer more detailed look. You can see the pinks, mustards, grays, and oranges.,

Well thought out, and done great. The chalkboard affect just makes it even more powerful. A great nod to ALBERT EINSTEIN indeed.

Paint Samples Going Green

Ok yall seriously. I was home this weekend, and was looking for a project to do. Yall know sometimes I get project hungry, and I needed to be fed. I have not found the art that I want to use in the dining area just yet, so I needed something temporary. My sons frames had been sitting for months, so I decided to take them over by painting them white, and coming up with something that would be easy. I love the out come. Had I had better frames, or more frames, this could have really gone far.

Those colored paint samples at the local paint store are worth more than just a color idea. I pulled all the samples that I used when Ralph Lauren was leaving Home Depot. So think about what you can do with them before you toss them! Now this is green living.
