Black, Yellow, Beige

Have you seen these at Tar-Jay? I am in love with this set. There are also some kitchen towels that match. I keep my mitts in a drawer so there is not a lot of woo woo going on, but the towels would make a nice statement. Just waiting for that $6.00 price tag to go down just a tad bit. I may just take the leap this weekend.

DSC_0139 What are you buying this weekend?

In other news, I must share. We will be laying our dear cousin Vivian to rest this Saturday. She lost her battle with breast “c” at the young age of 35. She leaves behind these beautiful children. YOUNG CHILDREN, and loving husband. Please send up a sweet note of thought for her family please. This could be any of us. My heart is heavy, and my soul is sad. It is going to be hard for us this weekend just seeing their pain, and next week as well because we are sending off our aunt Nell who lost her battle with “c” as well. Yall take care, and never take one day for granted. We only live this life once, so do what makes you HAPPY while you can. If its decorating, fashion, writing, blogging, DO IT!

I'm so sorry Tam. I will keep you and her family in my thoughts.

Losing a mother is so hard. My mom lost her battle with lung cancer on Christmas eve this year and it's still hard to deal with even as an adult.

Dang Tam...I am so sorry to hear about your family members. And 35 hurts me the most especially with young kids. A class mate of mine passed away last month from breast cancer at the age of 27 and I cried for days. I cried for her babies and my babies because I could not imagine leaving them. But as you know, God has bigger plans than we do.

Take care girl

My mother is a breast cancer survior... I am a huge advocate because unlike me others cannot say that they are able to call their moms and just say hi. I can't imagine how that feels. I am so sorry for your loss and my hearts and prayers go out to her husband and beautiful children. May God bless them with the strength to get through these tough times.

The entire family have great smiles - adorable kids. Hopefully her husband will have lots of family and friends around to help him through this....

35?!?!?

Cancer is such an evil Mother F*cker!

I'm sorry, I'm just so fed up with hearing stories of beautiful vital people losing their lives to this insidious disease. I'm just sick to my stomach with sadness thinking about how many people I have personally lost or those that I know who have lost loved ones. We need to find a cure for this. Enough already.

With that I send my most sincere and deepest condolences to her family, her friends, and anyone who's life she touch in her all too short time. I wish you all peace and contentment.

xoxo- The Townhouselady

just stopping in...today was rough..I actually just had a moment alone in my office. her kids did well under the circumstances. her husband even sang. he was actually a winner for WEEKS on the apollo back in the
92-93 mark. His name was Cedric (from Dallas) if any of you can recall back that far. Anyway she was beautiful. It was hard for my son..my husband had to take him out, but after he came back i think he started to block it out and asked to play on my cell phone...But it was a celebration of her life as well. We all stood up and applauded for her life...Her husband stood up and told us all that they would be ok. That he was going to take care of his kids. He also said that she was lent to him, and it was time to give her back to her rightful owner. This family is spiritually strong. Ceds father is a pastor so they have God on their side, and know him well. Thanks again for all the lovely comments. They mean a lot, you just dont know. I wish there was a cure as well. I just dont understand why there isnt. People dontate so much money, year after year and still nothing. I cant understand that, and it makes me think funny about whats going on with all this research. Hope your weekend is grand!

Wow...35 is so young and you're right about the research...I live in socal and near one of the largest phara-businesses and I have friends that are chemist...many times when they get close...they are pulled off and put on other projects. I lost my mom to cancer and friends to breast cancer and hopefully one day money won't come into play so that there will be a cure.

I'm praying for you, the hubby and those sweet children...that y'all turn closer to God in such a difficult and hard time.

Hey Tammi, I went to see my brother and his family today. It's been a month and I missed them. While talking with my them I learned that your Vivian is our Vivian. I wondered what kept bring my back to the photo, her hair and that smile. Vivian, Veronica and there other sister and mom have been friends of the family since I was in elementary school. The thing I remember most about Vivian is her kindness. It had been my experience that girls her age were not so nice but she was the sweetest. Whenever I saw her or Veronica, I was met with a smile like they had been waiting on me to show up. I learned of her battle a couple years ago. I prayed and desired for her to recover with hopes that I would one day get to see her again. I hadn't seen her since she left L.A. It was bittersweet to hear that her fight was up this evening; and then I put 2 and 2 together and your post popped into my mind. I'll always remember that smile. May God rest her sweet soul. God is good all the time. I pray that your family burden is light.
