the first bathroom

Decorating your first place can be so exciting, and a bit of a chore when you don’t know what to do. I recall being all over the place with décor ideas and making the biggest mistakes. The bathroom can be easy and fun to decorate as long as you don’t make the number one design mistake according to Tam.

Have you made this mistake in decorating your first bathroom?

AphroChic Fall Collection

Have you seen the sneak peak of the Fall Collection from AphroChic? Job well done to designer Jeanine Hays who hit it out of the ball park again with bold patterns, and color. Chic indeed. The wallpaper in this collection really has me thinking about taking the leap to the paper side. I love the edge that it gives. You cant go wrong with either pattern. The hard part is choosing which one to purchase. And the Brooklyn Life pillows are that perfect touch that I need in my office. There is one that represents INSIDE, and one for OUTSIDE. Absolutely lovely.

Master Bathroom (Take 2)

These are small changes, but they are slowly bringing the "spa" feeling that I am looking for. I added the palms from the new Target Home Design Event for $19.99, and a basket from Bath and Body for $1.25. Also there is a oil burner from Bath and Body for $3.00, and I mentioned the cloth towels in a past post. The towels are just classic white which I love from Homegoods. I am thinking of doing something to the walls but I dont know yet. Everyone knows paint colors give me a headache. I need the perfect wall hangings and something for the window and I will be okay for "now". But there are few things I like....This pebble mat from CB2 will look great. But why pay $30+ when I can do this myself for about $15. And these great pictures from Target.
Here's How

Start with a rubber mat.
About 4-5 bags of your favorite rocks (depends on size)
Clear adhesive

*I would advise arranging them on the mat ahead of time so that you can see the layout*
The rest is easy..Glue the rocks to the mat and let it dry and keep it unmoved for about 24 hours. Easy huh? I thought so. I ran across this and cant wait to start. Be on the lookout!

Master Bathroom! Take One

This is a start to the "Spa Like" feel in the master bath. The Black rocks, White Cotton , and Green moss like balls really give me the look I want to start with. I bought two 10 pack of white wash cloths for $4.99 each at TJ Maxx. These are used daily as face towels because they are easy to wash, fold, and roll. The quailty is actually very good. They are the bundle that you see tied up with pretty ribbon. Try them out, you will love the softness of the the cloth.
