I meant to share with you guys the change that I made to the wall in the breakfast nook (now used as the dining area). I started with the pixel art that I made from paint samples, and decided to make a small collage. I did nothing fancy, this was all about using what I had around the house. And making things myself.
As you can see from what I noted. I mixed DIY, family, and doable décor pieces.

I have been a fan of stylist June Ambrose since fashion became fashion to me. For those that don’t know June, she is a major heavy hitter in the fashion world. I am thrilled that she now has her own show, so that the world can see another face of fashion. She recently styled the contestants for The X-FACTOR which she says was the hardest job of her career. June is also the author of Effortless Style, a wife, and mother of two. I am excited to see what’s next.

When I walked into West Elm and saw these beautiful red striped placemats I just had to have them. I think I bought the last few they had without blinking . I could see the red making a huge statement on my table, not to mention the fact that I LOVE LIKE STRIPES.
Well things didn’t go as I had hoped. The red stripes were just to much when I put them all together on the table. I think my eyes were playing tricks on me, which meant they had to leave. So they are going right on back. But I did score huge on the bowls, and mugs that you see. RUN, DON’T WALK and get yourself some. They were marked $1.99 each, plus take 20% off of that. The colors came in red, blue, yellow, orange, and green. All great colors for a summer table, or just to have as cereal bowls, and coffee mugs. This is a great way to introduce fun color to your dining experience.

I wanted an eclectic look at the table, but never found pieces that really did it for me. While at WE the other day I found a few pieces, and I put together a look that made me smile with happiness. The prices were great, they worked for my household, and looked wonderful.
I have children in my home, so plastic plates are loved here. The yellow plate is plastic, but well designed so I don’t mind it at all. The white plate comes in 4 different patters, and would look great on the wall. The bowl was the only item not on sale. I could not resist how well it was made. The attention to detail in color inside and out deserves four stars. I have not yet found the other items to complete the look, but my eyes are open. I am happy with where I started. Ok yall seriously. I was home this weekend, and was looking for a project to do. Yall know sometimes I get project hungry, and I needed to be fed. I have not found the art that I want to use in the dining area just yet, so I needed something temporary. My sons frames had been sitting for months, so I decided to take them over by painting them white, and coming up with something that would be easy. I love the out come. Had I had better frames, or more frames, this could have really gone far.
Those colored paint samples at the local paint store are worth more than just a color idea. I pulled all the samples that I used when Ralph Lauren was leaving Home Depot. So think about what you can do with them before you toss them! Now this is green living.

I see not many of you like the whole. Hint1 and Hint 2 of my project. Sorry. But I waiting for my last two chairs which came on Thursday. The room is not totally done yet. I still need to find that perfect something for the wall, and pick out a rug. Remember I actually won a 5x7 group of tiles from Flor a while back and still need to claim my prize.
The color I painted on the wall is Newburg Green by Benjamin Moore. I posted here a while back that I love the color, and it was a no brainer for me. The color just comes alive in the space. I walk in and see the color, and just smile. The scotch blue painters tape was my best friend. I have always liked the blue tape and it left me happy.

So hope these photos were worth the wait. I love them. This room has come a long way. All it took was some Benjamin Moore Paint and a West Elm Table to spark my flame. What are your thoughts on the color?
