that's a great shot.
photography is one of my hobbies too and as soon as it warms up i plan on taking a class that hopefully allows us to do shots outside.
for claases - you can try some of your local colleges that offer continuing education or special interest classes - that's a good place to start. also stores that specialize in photography/camera equipment (in canada a great one is henry's...not sure in the us). you can also see if your area/community has a photography meet up.
oh! are you on flickr? tons of groups on there as well for people at every stage - and they are even camera specific groups too! great because you can ask tons of questions and get answers immediately :)
