So what's next? FLOORS or PAINTING THE HOUSE? I said floors, and I'm ticked to say that. We had laminate "hardwood" put into place 2 years ago. I was talked out of hardwood at the time, and went with laminate because of the kids I was told. As you see, there is a basketball in this picture, and just happened to there when I snapped it. He bounces ALL day! Which probably losens certain spots. But its time to make a change..and zone the wood as a no bouncing ball zone! So what would you do first? Floors or Walls?
And the color choice...thats the hard part. I think I would do something different.

When we re-did our home I was advised to use laminate... the one I chose was individually padded for sound and I thought pretty costly. A found some hardwood floors that would have cost about the same... I have regretted my decision ever since- just not happy with it!!! What are you going to do???
I'm a big fan of darker wood floors. I think they look so rich. I'd REALLY love to stain mine darker since they're a light honey color. It's been voted down though since they are the original floors (119 yrs. old) we're thinking it's probably sacrilege to stain them another color.
I would definitely paint first! Three years ago we had Brazilian Cherry flooring installed in our foyer,dining room & first floor office. It is as stunning as it is durable!
