2010 ACTION PLAN..SORTA

The panels have got to go. Seriously, I am over them. I wanted lux when I found them and they have done their job. So new panels and out with the carpet (CHECK)

Get rid of the remaining carpet in the front of the house. That would be the formal and my office. Wood floors..no laminate (CHECK)

REMOVE THIS Chandelier and recycle it, per my blog friends request

Remove this tile. Replace it with marble. Usually that mat is not at the door so excuse it and my work bag…looks junky.

Replace the laminate “wood” with real wood. I really don't know what I was thinking. I know what I was thinking when we had it done. “I WANT THIS NASTY ASS CARPET OUT” is what I was thinking. My kids were 2 and 5 when we got the house built so just imagine the things they did, and left on the carpet in the den. The installer did a so-so job

More to come on Monday. Hopefully these posts will help me remember what I need to do. As a matter of fact I need to call and make appointments for quotes today.

I am with you on carpet & floors. Those are getting changed in my house this year no matter what. I already started my floor fund. Looking forward to seeing your picks and how you get there.

I'm with you, T. We want to refinish our hardwood floors throughout our home to get rid of the yellowish tint to it. Annnd, we want to rip out the linoleum in the kitchen and lay down hard wood. Should be an interesting year! Can't wait to see your home with some new floors!

So you aren't happy with the laminate? My husband and I were just thinking about putting some down in the kitchen and family room, which get a lot of traffic.
Right now we have two different vynal tiles down. How tacky of us!

I love our hardwood floors in our house much easier to keep clean BUT that need to be refinished, we plan on replacing the icky tile in our kit/dining room with either lamintate (the good kind that will match our new floor color)or bambo

If I were I would skip the marble entry and just do wood floors! It will ground your entrire space downstairs more

I am with you on the carpet! my kids are 3 and 5 and we moved in when they were 0 and 2!
I actually didn't even stop my dog from ripping it up a bit under her cage! (thought about spreading some food on it so that she would shread the whole thing...shhh)
I think I would be happier with just bare floors than carpet!
Can't wait to see your pics!

Marble floors at the front entrance would be lovely! I helped my father install marble tiles in the foyer of his home about 4 years ago, it's very simple but requires a bit of patience. ;)

It's always wonderful to have a plan. Good luck with the quotes.

Really you're going to recycle the chandelier? I love its shape - why don't you spray paint it white like I did to mine? You could even attach crystals.

I know no matter what you do it's always going to be classy and chic! I especially can't wait to see the finale of your living room.
(sorry had to do some proper spelling so I took back the last comment, which made me look hella stupid)
