Black It Up

Well…wanna know what I was doing this weekend. Please see below. I like painting but damn my walls are tall. I had been barking about black, and commenting on other blogs that I love black paint…but this weekend I went ahead and made use of the black paint that hit the floor not so long ago. This is actually the same room it fell in so dripping black paint on the floor really didn't bother me much in the painting process since there is a HUGE black splat on the carpet. The photo below is a before but only half way. My daughter took this picture. I dont know what she was thinking. I was to busy actually doing "something" like prepping.

Not sure of the final outcome…But the black is here to stay. I actually love it as I walk back there. I have new ideas that have popped up, since I last night. Lets see how this all works itself out in the end.

Stay Tuned

XOXOX,
TamStyles

I'm not sure, whats your overall idea fro this room?

I like the wallpaper idea too. And you need to incorporate white in it as well. Long white curtains maybe?? Then I think you will LOVE it.

i agree with Kara! white curtains maybe even white and black! Lots of pops of white sculptures here and there would be baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaddddddddddd too!!! I'm excited!

You definitely are fearless! I love a good black room. I would take a clear gloss and do a stencil on the walls for a faux wallpaper treatment. That way when light hit the stenciling it would reflect the stencil in a high sheen like expensive wallpaper. I know whatever you do it'll be proper!

I can't wait to see the room. I'm planning my black room now but I can't decide. I had a brown wall in my bedroom but over that. Maybe I'll paint it black.

BLACK EVERYTHING! And I lovez it. Now add some white with touch of blue and set the room on fire! Make the curtains appear as if the window is long by hanging them almost from the ceiling. White would be alright!
I cant wait to see what you do with this! Did the black make the room smaller or appear that way? I used black on one wall and a million people kept saying this room is smaller! WTH...it wasnt but whatever. The wall is Chocolate now and it looks the same. (Which room is this)

I'm a fan of the black walls too. I almost did my office in black a couple of years ago but I let a decorator "friend" talk me out of it. I should never have listened to her. Love where you are headed. i may do a post on black walls myself soon. Thanks for sharing and inspiring me to take the plunge.

You are so brave!! I am way too scared to paint a wall black, but I do like avant garde's idea of having three black walls and a wallpapered wall - would be pretty with a black paper with a metallic design - very sexy!
