Coming Along..still in the black

This has been a tisket a tasket. I told yall I cuss! Well I wont. I was told to use the silicone below to make the lines straight, and I did. It worked to a certain point point. I read somewhere else where a reader was asking a blogger about painting and she listed..use the green tape..easy. Not for us all. I have textured walls which means I am damned. Something is going to get through. I used green tape, and blue tape….

As you see there is no molding in this room. I am close to getting some just because its easier to do work with than making straight lines. See all that mess at the top. Uhhhh more taping to do.

Mr. Styles says leave the ceiling alone. I was prepping it for paint until I got the word

DSC_0339 Straight lines…my friend.

DSC_0343I originally had beige on this wall. Builders beige. With this project I was changing it to Ultra Pure White. Well I decided to change that. Its now Silver Screen buy Beyr. DSC_0344

This is so pretty to me. So much work. Once I am done this room is going to be SICK. Trust me. Its a mess right now. But ohhh just wait.

Any tricks yall can share?

On color splash (HGTV), they suggest using a clear glaze so that the paint don't "seep" through. it will give you a clean line.

I love the black! oh, and the gray!

In a pinch I've used a piece of cardboard to make my clean lines, works like a charm. However I've never used it for an entire room

I always use the flat think with the 2 little rollers on the end to paint my rooms. I never tape anymore. I do love the white ceilings too.

I just use an angled trim brush - no tape. If you have a steady hand, you probably don't need the tape!

Ok Tam! It is looking GUD! really GUD! The tape usually works for us. My Hubby told me not to ever paint a ceiling. Sometimes I want to do it just to see how it looks. Good looking out Mr. Styles.
My Sista uses I think a glaze of some sort. She is a GURU!

Tami the silicon just locks the tape in place so there is no bleeding. i have textured walls so the paint finds its way through the tape.

GORGEOUS! Pure love, this rich velvety black. How can one color evoke such a dramatic emotion?

(I also like the ceiling as is.)
