I have tried it, and its not working. I am keeping the originals in place. Thanks for all the advice on this piece. We took a house vote, moved the pieces around to try something different, and it just wasn't working. Below are photos of me placing a few here and there just to see what it would look like...You will see for yourself!
Every redone piece does not call for new hardware I see. They just needed to be updated with the dresser. I love it as is.

yeah Tam... Not really feeling the new pulls the old ones are fabulous! Tuck them in a drawer somewhere I'm sure you'll find another piece of furniture to bang them with!
I actually like the new hardware, but it looks fab either way! Great find.
Also, the desk is going to be sold. It won't be staying with me. :(
And it looks WONDERFUL!! You can just recycle the other hardware and utilize for another FAB project!
