Believe me when I say..I spent my life in the laundry mat until I moved out at 18. Even after that, we had an apartment with no washer for about 2 years. So at around 20 I got my first washer. I am happy to say my kids have never had to endure the crud of a laundry mat. But when my washer went out on me (&%#$@*&%) Saturday night, I wanted to cry. We makes plans for big ticket items, and I wanted to do other things with our money. But after taking my ass to the laundry mat Sunday afternoon with MY DAUGHTER, who whispered to me—“MAMA I DONT LIKE THIS PLACE”—At that point I knew that was IT. I am a damn GERM PHOB, so EECK, not to mention the single men/boys with lurking eyes who were on at the tip of being told the hell off…SO, Right after we left the mat, I was off to Sears and Home Depot. All this in less that 24 hours!
(DL F ERROR)
I had to pull out the tools to free my clothes from the machine. It was locked in place. I mean mass surgery here..I was “going in”…
On with the good news BABIES!
We are welcoming this GE Profile home on Thursday! I cant wait to do laundry. My son was leaving for school this morning in his not so favorite shorts. I said “Are your other shorts dirty”…He replied, “Yes Ma’am”…I said “I’m sorry Mama cant wash them for you”…I felt so bad. But he said..”Mama, that’s ok”…
Enough mush…Let me share my great deal!
This washer retails for $1309.99 at Sears, but on sale there for $1013.99
I got a price match using Home Depots $809.10 (online)
plus Sears offers an additional 10% off the price match..and a rebate on the shipping of $65.00! Can you say steal. Always , Always, SHOP AROUND.
TIPS
- Go find what you like, but don’t commit to anything with the sales team.
- Take down the info of the product.
- Go home and get online to find the best deal from major competitors.
- Go back the next day, and make your purchase with the price match.
- Verify if there are any rebates
- ENJOY your deal

Great deal! My next major "planned" purchase is a new washer & dryer. I hope the set I have keep working until I PLAN to get new ones! LOL!
Congrats!
Mine stopped spinning this weekend! I'm waiting to hear back from Family Services at the Base to see if I can get it fixed! It's only 2 yrs old-a wedding present from the 'rents!
Way to score a great price though! ;)
sucks that it went out, but way to go on a deal! i was going to suggest the sears outet (if you have one there), but the deal you got is almost as good. i love a good washer & dryer--hope you love yours!
i love that you said eff this bullshit and went and bought a new washer!! i would have done the same thing!
You will love those! Seriously, my parents just got some a few years ago and they are the best things ever! I'm in laundromat stage right now :(. It's just how it goes I guess.
Laundromats will do that to you! Nothing like having your own!
splish splash. enjoy. smart shopper you.
Yeah mama! I am not a fan of laundromats either, but I go to wash my comforters, they are white so you know bleach and hot water are in play...lol
I feel you on the whole "babies and you" conversations...they speak truths and say things that make us think huh?
I soo want a front loader, good deal and great tips. thanks girl!!
I love price matching. I am also glad to hear that there is someone out there that enjoys doing laundry. Feel free to fly to Ohio and do mine anytime.

Get your discount on!! Yay!!!
saving money...ALWAYS the way to go, ALRIIIIGHT!
Your post was so true! What an oxymoron for the laundry mat to be a dirty place, but many times it is. I have a washer and dryer in my laundry room, but I still take my comforters and rugs (shhh! don't tell Mr. Lee I am washing rugs in his machines!) to the laundry every other week to do them all at once in the mega machines.
I so love this machine! We have it in red.
My Hubbster cannot work it YET! I think its on purpose...Or a cross between I don't wanna do the laundry or I really don't know how to work this thing! lol
Congrats....
very nice! we recently bought the matching dryer to our front loader. Got is for a cool $300 from the Sear scratch and dent place. Works just fine!
