A New Idea

Ok..I was telling my Lover the other day that I want something bold in the front. He looked at me like I was crazy! Now keep in mind. The left side is the office and the right is the formal. I love the stripes that Michelle did in her home. And the chevron in Maria’s home. I thought about getting up there myself with some frog tape, and making it happen. Or should I get a professional. If I messed up that ceiling, I would be FURIOUS. I love the crown molding, Its like butta to me.

By the way…That light fixture is so friggin ugly. WHY is it still here?DSC_0327p DSC_0328

Three Men and A Lady

2m

Great jobs, and alooooot of time, and measuring. That is my sore spot. I don't have time to be so patient. I want it fast. LOOKS PERFECT! I don't know. Maybe just a bold color would do. See how fast I start to talk myself out of it! I really need to sit my ass down and be still…Or just put my hands in my lap. I have to many damn ideas for my own good.

XOXOX,

TamStyles

We also have stripes in our morning room. We opted to only do one feature wall, but it didn't take long. Our sttipes, however, are about double the size of the horizontal ones you've shown. That's a thought. :)

i too, love stripes but don't have the patience. have you considered just painting the ceiling? I think a bright color would be great there, as long as you leave the walls the neutral they are. Maybe even a dark color? Hmmm . . just a thought.

I hate painting ceilings! How about painting the ceiling a darker color like Dayka suggessted? Or doing a stencil designing on the ceiling?

girl you read my mind! i'm actually considering changing my pink hallway (with the graphic print i spent so much time doing) to horizontal stripes...still a thought right now but you never know....

I love stripes & chevron ones even more. But...I hate painting those jokers. The taping alone is annoying. If you do decide on stripes though and worry about bleeding, The Magic Brush's blog author told me to paint the original paint color I am painting over to create a seal and barrier so there won't be any bleeding. Hope that helps. And we all know no matter what you decide it will be the ish.

O_O Girl....I love those horizontal stripes. Like...LOVE. You should do it. Rather than painting a ceiling (which I can assure you is gonna be a big ole headache), why not a fantubulous lighting fixture?

haha, holy cow both of those rooms would have taken forever! If you figure out how to make something as cool as that without it bleeding--do share!

Good luck.

Considering the textured walls I would paint it a bold color, but leave the ceiling white and change the light fixture. I think since the office is kind of dark and the formal is light a bold color between the 2 would be nice. The strips are nice though, but I thought it extended a little too far.

My paint always bleeds through the tape also. My home is 7-years old so the walls are builder texture and I have to buy artists brushes to hand line the ceiling! I think a chevron would look incredible...you could do it, with your talent! It may take a while...I'm excited to see what you decide to do!

Love that hallway, those grey and white stripes make it look so big and spacious.

Stripes for YOUR foyer, No but the ceiling, something bold. The space can handle it. Your color choice would depend on the other colors that you have in your home, for a nice flow.

As much as I love the chevron, I think it'd be a pain in the neck to do (literally, since it's the ceiling). Unless you did hire out of course.

How about a fantastic new light fixture PLUS an ornate ceiling medallion? That would look so PERFECT!

I saw this on Apartment Therapy and I thought of this post. You wouldn't have to do the same as them, but they idea of using prints of something you like on the ceiling would be cute. Hope the link works. The pic is of a ceiling with black and white birds and flowers. I don't particulary like this print, but the idea is cute.
