I added a new rug to the formal living just to try out a look. Below is the look I was going for. The faithful Nate (bring in the bells) is what set me off. I went against the grain, and wanted to try something totally different. I happen to think it really has a kick.
I have been wanting this light fixture since I spotted it on her show last year. It popped up and bit me as I surfed on the net last night on Lampsplus. I am sure it is a knock off, but that is just fine with me baby! They look super close, right?
Below are some photos that I Photo shopped to show what it should look like. My skills are not the best, just yet. So please excuse the hotmess of messiness, but it still gives a pretty could idea I think.
So after all that..what are your thoughts?
Hope you had a great weekend, and HAPPY MONDAY!

TamStyles

I love the room!! It looks beautiful & so nicely put together!! The rug & the light too really brighten the room!
Hey Tam, I got your message about the NOLA sign. I was planning on doing it kinda like Sherry from YHL did the one in her bathroom... but on a MUCH bigger scale.

Do you have the link for the tutorial you mentioned? I'm planning on making 2, one for New Orleans and one for San Diego, where my husband & I live now. I wanna do em big... like 2 feet by 7 feet, but I'm just worried about the word spacing. Thanks !

Now you worked that out. Great contrast with the rug. The NOLA sign? That's a great DIY project waiting to happen.
Looks great! I've recently starting following your blog and love your taste. And by the way, you're not the only one in love with that light fixture. I too have been feenin' for it since I saw that episode! Keep up the good work.
I used to WANT that light fixture until I realized gold wouldn't work in my living room - but it would work perfectly in yours, because of your coffee table - can't wait to see pics when you get it!
