Bam, Ready…

Here she is. All painted up and ready to show. I ordered a few pulls, which should be here this week. So in the mean time, I painted the originals, and they actually look nice. I was having a hard time finding some in the 6 inch length, so this may work. We will see. All in all I think this was my favorite piece to do. This color has opened me up to the freshness of Spring. I want light and airy all around my room at this moment. The project was pretty easy. I sprayed primed, sanded the laminate top, primed it as well, painted the drawers, and lastly the whole dresser. I let it dry, and painted the top again the next day...along with the sides and back. After everything was 100% dry I sealed it with the poly. I went over it with poly again the next day....and the next day. So total I polyed for 3 whole days. It shows, and is perfect in my eyes. Hope you like it!

I used:

EBay to make the purchase ($9.99 + $89 for shipping)

Heirloom White spray paint (Home Depot)

Kilz Spray Primer

Metallic Silver Spray Paint (Wal-Mart)

Clear Gloss Wipe-On Polyurethane

Knob purchased from myknobs.com

I saw this little tray at Target and thought it was so cute. Goes perfectly…

Stay Tuned…There is more that I did in this room over the weekend.

I am so inspired! This is awesome. I am usually turned off by paying shipping for anything, but in this instance it was absolutely worth it... You should really be proud of yourself Tam.

It looks great! I have to ask - how did you get them to come down on the shipping price? I remember you were upset when they quoted you a higher price for shipping. I've seen a few pieces I like a lot but that shipping price is keeping me from taking the plunge.

See, this is why I have to leave NYC, I can't do stuff like this in an apartment! I need a yard!

This is beautiful and I agree with L Duncan about the pulls, but knowing you, I have a feeling that you have some pulls that are out of this world, so I'm gonna sit back and wait and see.

OMG I love it!

It looks so polished now! You have got it extra glosst too. I have a feeling the pics don't do enough justice on how slick glossy it is!! And I have to say, I hate when the dang knobs take forever to come in. That's my problem lately.

Kia..regarding shipping. You are right. I was upset they were trying to screw me. But being me..I wasnt having it. I told them to they needed to honor the original quote or I would take a strike and report them. I explained that service is everything...blah blah..and they went ahead and honored it. All in all that was the right thing to do.

Lakietha- I love how they turned out to..to be honest I hate that I wasted $35 for on the new ones. But lets see what they look like when they come.

All-thanks for the nice comments. I really really love it. You know how a piece can be your inspiration? It has been just that for this room, and me..I have that vision thing in my head.

OH MAH GAH. I'm speechless. Well, almost.

The way you transformed this piece is utterly DIVINE, girl! GORGEOUS GORGEOUS GORGEOUS! I'm so jealous that you found this piece, I can't even begin to tell you. =]

Regarding the drawer pulls (I skimmed the others' comments, so forgive me if this has been mentioned), I LOVE the original bamboo ones AND the drop pulls you ordered.

How about doing drop pulls for the 3 mini drawers in the center (vertically speaking). And moving the 2 leftover bamboo pulls to the remaining left & right big drawers at the top?

Either way, you can't go wrong w/ this lovely piece!
