Book Review: Nina Garcia’s Look Book

I was sent a copy of Nina Garcia’s: LOOK BOOK. I am keeping it real as I always do, and I must say that I love this book. I already own her other two, so this one just joined the group. I love that there is a suggestion for almost every occasion that you can think of. She even educates on what to carry in your bag for each occasion, and suggests how to wear your hair. It’s a no brainer for those that hate the idea of outfit planning.

There is a page titled: What to wear to your child's sporting event. The image that was recommended was identical to what I have worn to my sons games. I almost jumped! I wear my glasses like that because of photo taking.I have the short hair. Replace the soccer ball with a football/basketball and its me. Oh, I wear Chuck Taylor Converse with mine. Was someone watching lil ole me?

Jacket: Harajuku Lovers, and Army pants: GAP

These outfits are totally attainable which is what I love. Below is a photo of what to wear on a first date. Jeans, and a cute top? Easy. DSC_0076   This page tells about what to wear on a business trip.

  • choose fabrics that don't wrinkle easily
  • invest in your business style essentials
  • bring layers
  • err on the side of formality when traveling
  • pack at least one day before you leave

DSC_0079 This outfit details what to wear when you want a raise. This is my look. I have always been the one to out dress my boss. She was always a sloppy mess, which I could never understand. Flip flops to the office on a day other than Friday?

If my dates are right. I should be getting me that short cut today.

Hope you enjoyed this review, as much as I did. Great author, and great book for women across the globe getting dressed everyday.

I usually like my style/fashion books to have pictures of real people or real clothing, but this review has me interested in checking out Nina's book. I like all of the different scenarios and suggestions.

I'm thinking this needs to be done as a GIVEAWAY!!!!! I know I'd love the chance to win it! ;) And then all the rest who don't win can go buy it ;) Which sadly might be me-but sounds super worth it!!!

I have her other two as well, and I will purchase this one. I just purchased Lloyd Boston's second book "The Style Checklist". He, NIna, and Rachel Zoe are a part of my closet bookshelf! I love them! : )
