CLEAR IT OUT

Every since we painted the entire house. We are slowly hitting room by room, doing what we can, when we can. We cleared out the den yesterday, and there is nothing really left. The sofas were passed on, garage sale things set aside, and news has been broken to the kids that the TV is being removed. A tragedy to them I think, but oh well.

REVERE PEWTER IS THE NEW COLOR ON THE WALL. LOVE IT.

Remember this is the look I am going for. Modern city eclectic, but livable because we do have kids. I never want my kids to feel like the den is not a place for them as well. My formal living on the other IS NOT FOR THEM, and THEY KNOW IT. The image below does not have much pattern, and I want to bring touches of patterned fabric to the room and color.

These shades have been on my mind for a while now. They add color and pattern to a space so you wont have to add much in other areas. Shades of Light did a great job.

Remember these? They are here now (PICTURED ABOVE IN PHOTO 1) and awaiting to be covered by loving fabric. I cant express how much I love these chairs, and how happy I was to find them on Craigslist.

On a side note. I love this flag, and I have a globe from my childhood similar to what’s in the photo below. These items would add the eclectic edge. flag

Mr. Styles at Crate and Barrel on the Petrie Sofa. I think the sizing is perfect enough for his body type, plus mine, and our two kids.

I actually love the leather looks, and they would be great for the kids. However, the price is out of my budget. I need a J-O-B for sure.

So that’s where we are with the den, and all that I have in my brain. This will indeed be a process. But this post helped me note everything on the brain.

Love everything. I've been thinking of going gray or more neutral in my home too but I need to get past taking down the curtains I just had made about a year ago.

Great post! Love it all. This new feature on the blog incorporating Mr. Styles is great - it's good to see a husband and wife team both express themselves creatively and support each other in doing so. It comes across that you and Mr Styles are each other's biggest cheerleaders, and that rocks.

those chairs are perfect, are you going to stain them darker?

Think long and hard about the options. I went for the "less-expensive" sofa, and am now sorry I did. I just don't love it like the other one.

I'm a Petrie fan {as our living room sofa favors that look}. Plus, I think your inspiration photo is right on! : )

I love the eclectic look that you are seeking. My home became ecletic not by design. We've lived in different regions and we picked up items during travels.

Hope you enjoyed my "shout-out" to GetItGirlStyle!

AMAZING FIND with the chairs--WOW! What are your thoughts about fabric textures so far?
As far as the sofas, I actually like the C&B version better because i think the tufting gives it great character! Will be great to see this room come together.
