The Mister has been really busy with work so I told him I would step in and handle the post for him. Below are images of his “sacred room”. He took the closet in this room and made it his own with every piece of memory that he had from his childhood, his mother, and family. Usually when people come over they end up in that room, and are in amazement at what he has “collected” and put up. It really speaks to the man he is, and what is important to him in my opinion. To be honest, I still go in there and marvel at the images, and pick up pieces of character that he has planted in the space. The smell is even old. In his mind he says he has the scent of his Paw Paws smoking tobacco (Mr. Styles doesn’t smoke). He went to the local tobacco shop, and actually sniffed every tobacco until he found the familiar scent from his childhood. So there are mason jars filled with tobacco, that he sometimes burns for a heavier smell.
The door to the space originally was a basic door, and he has now changed it out to an older door, which he painted, and had glass inserted.
There is one piece of me that he allowed on the door. The knobs. I grew up with those crystal knobs in my Granny's house, and just looking at them everyday takes me back.
And here are a few images of what is behind the door. Trust me. Every item has a meaning. From the dried leaf in the cup, to the Sega machine that sits up proudly.
My favorite photo. Disney World 2005. I was actually pregnant here.
Now..he doesn’t even eat candy. BUT…They remind him of his childhood. Did I mention he is number 7 of 10 kids. Yep, lucky number 7. I have a special guy. Can you spy my 16 year old self on the drivers license?
He made this for his Mom when he was a kid. After she passed, he brought it home.
I told you guys he is a SOONER FAN. HUGE.
His Mom adorns this mirror along with us. I am excited to see what he changes in here myself during the process of changing the entire room.
He found these receipts, along with some stamps and old photos as well after his Mom passed. They date back to 1965. It looks like the house payment was $15.00 --- Things that most would throw away. He would keep.
I hope you guys enjoyed this post. It really does offer a peak inside of who he is. He reads all the comments that you guys leave on his posts, and I think he is liking this blogging thing.
High Fives & Hugs,
Tam(on behalf of Mr. Styles)

i love this. love love love this. it's exactly a peak into who he is inside his 'man room' - that he has all of these items that he obviously holds so near to his heart proudly displayed...well that's a very special man you've got there chica. (and kudos to you for not being one of those partners you hear about that won't let their mate put out what's special to them (video games etc) for fear of it not 'going' with the decor.)
now *ahem* you mentioned he's one of 10...does that mean there's perhaps a single brother like him.................. ;)
The man is a genius. And furthermore, he is a man who has a respect for the past. What a catch!!!!!
What a fabulous space! I think we all need a space to hold onto those mementos in life that are so important.
I featured your blog today at stylesson.com.
What a beautiful post and a wonderful idea for a space. I think this a great that he as a place to keep his memories. My DH has a book shelf but I love this. Thanks so much for sharing. It shows how much he cares his family.
Oops FOR his family! LOL.
7 of 10? family get-togethers have got to be fun! This is just phenomenal. What a conversation starter, I bet you guys could talk for days reminiscing on all the beautiful memories captured in this little space. He is awesome Tam! Man...I do have fond memories of that tobacco gum! And I am loving the crystal door knob detail too! It actually reminds me of all my grandmother's costume jewelry and she had one huge crystal necklace in particular. I wonder where all that stuff is? Anyway, can't wait to see the finished project!
I love this post and what a special room. I love seeing all the fun stuff. :)
That's exactly what decor should be (in my opinion) beautiful things that have meaning and evoke great memories. It's wonderful that he has been able to hold onto these things, and he can pass them on to your children. I love the door too, what a fantastic room!
You guys make such an interesting couple and are great together. I love you guys' creativity!
There are so many great pieces in this space... where to begin. The Milford Soap crate and the leather briefcase are brilliant touches, but the Dorothy Dandridge Life Magazine cover is the best. Great style.
LOVE LOVE LOVE!! He is such a drool worthy husband in that he seems to think the way us women would love our men to think, YOU GOT THE RIGHT ONE! I think it's such a special space and I had to laugh because my Mr keeps all letters and throw-back candy if he finds it lol. Hey Mr Styles-GOOD JOB!!!
this is so sweet. thanks for sharing it with us :) I'm a sucker for anything old and memorable too. Unfortunately, my grandparents live overseas so I don't have easy access to them. But it's nice to see that these things meant so much to your husband. He did a great job
You got yourself a wonderful man girl! This tells me that he is very passionate, considerate and remembers all of those important dates (birthday's..anniversaries...1st time he kissed you)lol! Any man that holds on to things given to him or that reminds him of his parents has got to be a sweetheart (and one that be a good parent)! This room is an awesome conversation piece. I can't get over the fact that you could make a house payment for $15 in the late 60's!! WOW!! Thank you so much for sharing this special post. Kiah
Ok, I more than enjoyed this post!! Love how the space is turned into something truly special and with so MUCH meaning! to your husband... truly wonderful
This just gave me chills (good ones of course) What a wonderful idea and I would love to do this in my home when we have the space one day. I could almost smell the scent of tobacco. Thank you so much for sharing this, I just adore your husband and your family :)
Thanks so much for these comments. you guys have all said such nice things. I cant wait for him to read these.
this is cool! it's like his own little museum.
Wow, I so love the fact of how much he values things that hold sentimental value. It think it is so important to tresure those things. Kudos to you both!
I think he has done a great job of creating his own personal space. I'm not sure my husband could have done something like that without some HGTV professional help!
Very special room and a very special man. The idea of installing a glass door-- pure genuis. Now the family is able to walk by and just glance in the room to take in a "moment of memories." I love it!
You guys really compliment one another. I love the memory room and the respect you guys have for family.
What a lovely space....the warmth and care just jumped off the screen.
These are very nice pictures, I like your style:)
That door is pretty amazing great touch with the knob Tam. I bet Nate Berkus would love to hear about this you know he loves this kind of stuff. Pretty cool, I might take out all our awards and medals my hubby and I have stored away in the closet from our days in the military.
Soooo so special!!! My boyfriend has so many little momentos like that too... me, not so much! I need to do better about keeping things of value, but I'm a compulsive purger! I'm allergic to clutter. lol
I am absolutely in love with you and your hubby. I am digging his style!! Especially the vintage cameras and Varsity Jacket!!! You two make me believe LOVE still exist...Peace n Blessings!

That's it! I'm calling HGTV! You guys need your own show!
Love the space! (Not to mention he's got Brando "Godfather" pic. That right there scores 100 points!)
Love that he kept the plaque and items that belonged to his mom.
Moni..you are so funny. We appreciate the nice comments. Everyone has really been nice, and we really thank you...HUGS
wow just incredible, awesome way to preserve memories.
I love Mr. Styles Space, OMG. I showed it to my 18yr old son along with the rest of your home to show the contrast and his response was, "THAT'S DOPE"!! You two are one hell of a power couple, Love IT!! I like to name rooms and I would call this space:
"Cave Nostalgia". AWESOME JOB!!!
A wonderful place that you have created all your own. Style, warmth and class. Keeping it real with pieces of the past, love of the now and positive hope and passion for the future. It is something that is reflected in this space.
I love it.
So cute. Thanks for sharing your space. What a special man you are.
Beautiful. I can't express it any other way. I truly understand how he feels. I think some of us are just ole souls. This post speaks volumes of how much you love your special man. THAT'S a beautiful thing.
Blessings
I got a little teary eyed looking at all his stuff. What a sentimental husband you have; how very blessed you both are that you found each other and stick together.
I got a little choked up at that Disney World Pic for obvious reasons. I know how that feels and I am sorry.
Wow. Keep up the good work. Your blog is about more than style...your blog is about love, hard work and determination...your good taste and eye for beauty are a reflection of all the love you have in your life.
So very sweet! It shows how much he loves his family!!
